Hazrat Mu‘adh bin Jabal (ra) narrated that the Holy Prophet (sa) asked, “Mu‘adh, do you know what right Allah has over His servants?” He replied, “Allah and His Messenger (sa) know best.” The Prophet (sa) said, “That they worship Him and associate nothing with Him. Do you know what right they have upon Him?” He replied, “Allah and His Messenger (sa) know best.” The Prophet (sa) said, “That He should not punish them [if they do so].”
