Fast six days of Shawwal following Ramadan

Al Hakam29th April 2022

عَنْ أَبِىْ أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ

 مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَهُ سِتًّا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ كَانَ كَصِيَامِ الدَّهْرِ

Hazrat Abu Ayyubra al-Ansari narrates that the Holy Prophetsa said:

“He who observed the fast of Ramadan and then followed it with six fasts of Shawwal, it would be as if he fasted perpetually.”

(Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-Siyam, Hadith 1164a)
