حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَكَرَ النَّارَ فَأَشَاحَ بِوَجْهِهِ فَتَعَوَّذَ مِنْهَا، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ النَّارَ فَأَشَاحَ بِوَجْهِهِ فَتَعَوَّذَ مِنْهَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ ” اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَبِكَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ ”
Hazrat ‘Adi bin Hatim (ra) narrated:
“The Prophet (sa) mentioned the Fire, turned his face away and sought refuge from it. He then mentioned the Fire again, turned his face away and sought refuge from it. He then said, ‘Guard yourselves against the Fire, even if only by giving half a date; and whoever does not have even that should do so with a kind word.’” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Kitab ar-riqaq, Bab sifati l-jannati wa n-nar, Hadith 6563)
