On 12 March 2022, the core team of the Al Islam website – who run the official website of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat – were fortunate to have an in-person mulaqat with Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V, may Allah be his Helper.
After the mulaqat commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, the Al Islam team had the opportunity to seek guidance and direction from Huzooraa on an array of matters.
First, they presented ideas for a redesign of the Al Islam website followed by a proposal for a new mobile Salat app. They then provided updates on efforts to improve the Quran search experience on Al Islam and OpenQuran.com.
Huzooraa instructed that the Al Islam Quran page should be modified to simplify access to the commentary content at the verse level.
Explaining an improved workflow, the department stated that they have worked to unify disparate data sources to reduce human error and increase development speed. This was shown to Huzooraa using Holy Quran data that is already working well.
Huzooraa then graciously did a soft launch of the Android ReadQuran.app on an Android phone.
Next, the team presented the efforts to improve the ability to read and search within Ruhani Khazain – the books of the Promised Messiahas. They also submitted a proposal for a new Ruhani Khazain reading interface.
Finally, they delivered an update on the eBooks and audiobooks recently added to the site. They said that they were able to add 10 new eBooks and 20 new audiobooks to the site. The eBooks are available on Kindle, Apple Books and Google Play whereas the audiobooks can be found on Apple, Spotify and SoundCloud platforms. Huzooraa instructed the team to increase the rate of eBook production
