Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Saskatoon Southwest, Canada, in collaboration with Multi-faith Saskatchewan, hosted an interfaith event on 29 March 2026, focused on “Combating Hate: An Interfaith Response.” The gathering brought together faith, civic and community leaders to promote peace, solidarity and collective action against religious discrimination. The participants included more than 100 non-Ahmadi guests.
The programme opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an address from Saskatoon Chief of Police Cameron McBride, who emphasised the importance of strong partnerships between law enforcement and community organisations in preventing discrimination and hate.
A panel discussion followed, featuring faith leaders from diverse traditions alongside respected community representatives. Panellists shared teachings from their respective faiths on compassionate action, addressing prejudice and building trust across differences. The panel included representatives from Makwa Sahghaiehcan First Nation, Congregation Agudas Israel, Hindu Society of Saskatchewan, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Mennonite Church Saskatchewan, Sikh Society of Saskatchewan and Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya.
Throughout the evening, speakers consistently identified dialogue, mutual respect and co-operation as vital tools for strengthening resilient and inclusive communities.
Echoing these sentiments, the Ahmadi missionary, Saad Hayat Sahib, emphasised the Jamaat’s core message of compassion and universal love.
