FAQs
What is a ‘Meet & Greet’ and why is it being held? Following the instructions of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aa), this event has been organised to facilitate private meetings between applicants and their families with the aim of helping them find a suitable marriage partner.
How does the Meet & Greet work? Interested members must register online for the event. The International Rishta Nata team will review submissions and invite those who have signed up based on their preferences and criteria. Even if you already have a profile in the Rishta Nata system, you must complete a new form to ensure all information is up to date for this specific event.
What is the intended outcome? The goal is to provide each person who has registered with the opportunity to meet a suitable match. While we strive to facilitate a meeting for everyone, a suitable match is not guaranteed. Regardless, this is a valuable opportunity to meet the team and get further guidance about your search.
Is registration required to attend? Yes, registration is essential to enable proper planning and scheduling of meetings. However, if you simply wish to speak with the team informally, you do not need to register in advance – just ask for International Rishta Nata while you are at the Jalsa.
Can I register even if I am not registered at any other Rishta Nata platform in the Jamaat? Yes, you can still register for this event only.
Am I guaranteed a meeting? While every effort is made to arrange meetings, matches are based on mutual compatibility. If no suitable match is available at this event, other opportunities will be offered nationally and internationally – including at Jalsa Salana Canada the following week – insha-Allah.
Can I have more than one meeting? Only one rishta meeting will be arranged at a time. A second meeting can only be arranged if the first does not progress and both families are informed and in agreement. It is recommended that each rishta meeting be taken seriously, with time given for prayers and reflection before making a final decision.
Can non-participants observe the event? No. Due to the private nature of these meetings, only registered applicants and necessary accompanying family members may enter the venue.
Can a family attend on behalf of a prospect? Yes. If the prospect is unable to attend, the family may attend on their behalf. However, the other party will be asked if they are comfortable with this arrangement before a meeting is scheduled.
How is privacy ensured? Each meeting will be held in a private room. Safeguarding the dignity and confidentiality of all participants is a top priority.
Can I attend without a parent? While attending with a parent or guardian is highly encouraged, prospects attending alone will be supported by a member of the Rishta Nata team during introductions.
What you should do next…
