Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Australia held a Cooking Day Camp for nasirat and waqifat-e-nau on 12 July 2026, with an attendance of 82 nasirat and under-15 waqifat. The event was designed to teach essential culinary and life skills in a hands-on environment whilst also focusing on fostering spiritual growth, personal confidence and sisterhood among the participants.

The day began with registration and recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a read-aloud of eating etiquette by a group of nasirat and a self-serve breakfast. The participants then rotated through three interactive culinary stations in smaller groups, learning to prepare rotis, tea, dessert trifles, bread, etc.

In the afternoon, girls attended a presentation by National Secretary Tarbiyat on the etiquette of salat, before joining together in congregation. The nasirat then spent some time with farm animals, allowing them to appreciate Allah’s creation. Later, a presentation on kitchen tools was conducted, allowing the nasirat to learn about the uses of different utensils. Afterwards, an interactive session on cupcake decoration was held with guided instructions on various decorative techniques, allowing the nasirat to decorate their own cupcakes. Towards the end of the day, the girls enjoyed a bonfire with hot chocolate and casual talks.

The purpose of the event was to provide nasirat and waqifat with a deeper understanding of the significance of the Langar established by the Promised Messiah (as), while fostering an appreciation for the blessings of food and the dedication, effort and hard work involved in its preparation. The camp also aimed to equip participants with valuable kitchen and cooking skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. These objectives were achieved through a well-organised, enjoyable and interactive learning experience that encouraged teamwork, responsibility and a spirit of service.
