Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya New Zealand held its National Waqf-e-Nau Ijtema on 4 April 2026.
The opening session commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a poem and an introductory speech by my humble self. Following the opening session, an address was delivered by the missionary, Mustenser Ahmad Qamar Sahib, on “Consider the Service of Faith as a Blessing from God.” He emphasised that Waqifeen-e-Nau should regard their dedication as a divine blessing and strive to serve the Jamaat with sincerity and commitment.
After this, a presentation competition was held for which waqifeen-e-nau and waqifaat-e-nau were divided into three age groups: 7-11 years, 12-15 years and 16 years onwards. This provided an opportunity for the members to express their knowledge and build confidence. The session was followed by a lunch break.
In the afternoon, an interactive session was conducted by the missionaries in which the members were given the opportunity to ask questions in an open and supportive environment. This allowed them to reflect on their responsibilities and gain valuable guidance. Thereafter, Zuhr and Asr prayers were offered in congregation.
Following the prayers, an assessment was conducted in which participants were evaluated individually based on the Waqf-e-Nau syllabus according to their age groups. This was followed by a tea break.
The concluding session commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a poem and prize distribution.
The concluding address was delivered by the National President, Bashir Khan Sahib, who reminded the members of their responsibilities and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their pledge. The event concluded with a silent prayer. A total of 147 attendees participated, with members travelling from across the country, including Wellington, Masterton and Hamilton.
