Hazrat Anas bin Malik, Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of Eid-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. Hazrat Anasra also narrated that the Prophet used to eat odd number of dates.
