“In essence, for the reformation of the self and to achieve a virtuous end, seeking the grace to perform righteous deeds involves another dimension—prayer [du‘a]. The extent of reliance and certainty one places in God Almighty in this endeavour, and the steadfast steps one takes upon this path, will yield excellent results and fruits. All difficulties will be dispelled, and the one who prays will attain the highest ranks of piety.”
