Hazrat Abu Sa‘id (ra) narrated:
“Some people from among the Ansar asked the Prophet (sa) for assistance. He gave to everyone who asked him until nothing remained of what he had. When he had given away everything with his own hands, he said to them: ‘Whatever wealth I have, I will not withhold it from you. Whoever strives to refrain from asking others, Allah will enable him to do so. Whoever strives to be patient, Allah will grant him patience. Whoever seeks self-sufficiency, Allah will make him self-sufficient. And you will never be given a gift better or more abundant than patience.’”
