28 August 1901: Al Hakam reports that the Promised Messiah (as) said on the morning of this day, “My opponents are of two types: Muslim maulvis and European Christians. Both of them, respectively, extend their opposition to me and their unfair attacks upon Islam incessantly. Today, I was shown a scene of both of these people and a state of revelation was experienced, the details of which I do not recall.
“About the Christians, an impression was conveyed that many of them would value the truth; but with regard to the maulvis, I conceived the impression that most of them would be rendered helpless.” (Tadhkirah, p. 555)
28 August 1992: On this day, during his Friday sermon, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV (rh) spoke about the arrogance of Western nations and the plight of oppressed countries. Huzoor (rh) announced the establishment of a global humanitarian organisation under the administration of the Jamaat, known as “Humanity First.” This charity organisation was formally founded in the following years. 28 August 2016: Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aa) laid the foundation stone of the first Ahmadiyya mosque in the small German town of Pfungstadt in the state of Hesse on this day. (“Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community lays foundation stone for new Mosque in Pfungstadt, Germany,” www.pressahmadiyya.com)
29 August 1947: On this day, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra) delivered a Friday sermon from Masjid Mubarak, Qadian, which proved to be his last address in this blessed mosque. During his sermon, Huzoor (ra) drew the attention of Jamaat members towards particular topics and instructed them to pray for them regularly and profusely. (Khutbat-e-Mahmud, Vol. 28, pp. 266-276)
29 August 1980: On this day, during his visit to Ghana, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III (rh) travelled from Accra to unveil the memorial plaque of the Baitul Zikr mosque, which was under construction. Following this, after arriving at Salt Pond in the afternoon, Huzoor (rh) inaugurated the Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Ijtema of Ghana by hoisting the flag of Ahmadiyyat and then delivered the Friday sermon.
When Huzoor (rh) made his way back, he prayed at the grave of the pioneering Ghanaian Ahmadi, Chief Mahdi Apa in Ekrawfu and then met with the president of Ghana.
On this day, during his journey, Huzoor (rh) also unveiled a memorial plaque on the newly constructed building of an Ahmadiyya secondary school. (Silsila Ahmadiyya, Vol. 3, p. 634)
30 August 2016: On this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aa) laid the foundation stone of the “Noor Mosque”, the first Ahmadiyya mosque in the German town of Frankenthal in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. 31 August 1955: On this day, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra) delivered a lecture in Zurich, Switzerland, about the spirit of religion and its basic principles. According to volume 16 of Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, this lecture was given in English.
1 September 1927: On this day, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud’s (ra) 20-point memorandum was published that outlined his proposals for the establishment of peace and harmony between Hindus and Muslims. The text of this important piece was later published in Al Fazl as an appendix on 16 September 1927. The memorandum was sent to the leaders of both parties.
On this day, a meeting also took place between Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra) and the then Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin, at the Viceregal Lodge. (Al Fazl, 13 September 1927, p. 1)
1 September 2006: During his Friday sermon on this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aa) mentioned Master Munawar Ahmad Sahib, who had been martyred in Gujrat, Pakistan. Huzoor (aa) said that members of the Jamaat should remember the sacrifices of martyrs of Ahmadiyyat, since “any sacrifice for the cause of Ahmadiyyat can never go in vain.”
2 September 1898: On this day, the Promised Messiah (as) shared his love and care while replying to a letter of Hazrat Haji Seith Allah Rakha Abdur Rahman (ra). Huzoor (as) stated that it is most likely that when he falls asleep, Huzoor (as) remains occupied in praying for him. (Maktubat-e-Ahmad, Vol. 2, p. 374)
2 September 1904: The Promised Messiah (as) was residing in Lahore. On the blessed day of Friday, after Jumuah prayer, the Promised Messiah (as) delivered a lecture. On the same day, a Bahai by the name of Hakim Mirza Mahmud Zarkani sent the Promised Messiah (as) a challenge to a debate; the Promised Messiah (as) gave him a full response. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 2, p. 356)
3 September 1904: The Promised Messiah (as) was in Lahore. At 7:30 am on this day, a lecture of the Promised Messiah (as) was read out entitled, “Modern religions in this country and Islam”. It was read out by Hazrat Maulvi Abdul Karim Sialkoti (ra) in the presence of the Promised Messiah (as). After it was read out, the Promised Messiah (as) briefly addressed the audience. 3 September 1947: On this day, Liwa-e-Ahmadiyyat, the flag of Ahmadiyyat, was transported to Lahore from Qadian after the partition of British India. Mirza Abdul Ghani Sahib discharged this blessed and historic duty. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 10, p. 39)
