In a city whose founder prayed for the death of Islam and mocked the Holy Prophet (sa), the local Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Zion was able to observe Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
Salat, dars, iftar and tarawih prayer were held daily at the Fath-e-Azeem Mosque, which is hardly five minutes away from the grave of John Alexander Dowie, a bitter enemy of Islam. Zion Jamaat also held an iftar where 20 external guests attended, including Billy McKinney, the Mayor of Zion and Congressman Brad Schneider (D). On 20 March 2026, Zion Jamaat celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr.
