Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Glasgow North holds event on King’s coronation

Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Glasgow North held an event in relation to the King’s Coronation at the Baitur Rahman Mosque on 7 May 2023. An exhibition of the Holy Quran and its translations and the book A Gift for the Queen were displayed. A total of 30 participants, including 10 guests, attended the event in the main hall, where tea, coffee, snacks, and refreshments were served. This was followed by a street stall next to the mosque, where refreshments were offered to the public passing by.

Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Glasgow South organised a charity homeless feed coinciding with the King’s Coronation weekend at the Baitur Rahman Mosque on the same day. The event was organised by local community volunteers, who helped prepare and distribute meals. The event was publicised through local media outlets and social media platforms to encourage community members to get involved and support the initiative. The Jamaat provided over 100 hot food packs of chicken curry rice to Gowrie Care home, Alba Hostel, and Safer in Scotland homeless shelters around Glasgow, with each pack featuring a label promoting www.MuslimForPeace.org.uk.

Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Dundee arranged Eid and Coronation celebrations together at Baitul Mahmood Mosque on the same day. A total of 32 participants, including one guest, attended with their kids and enjoyed the event. Tea/coffee and refreshments were served.

Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Edinburgh and Fife celebrated the King’s Coronation with friends, neighbours, and many local community members in Rosyth, Fife, at the Rosyth Parish Church on 8 May. Guests included Councillor Gordon Pryde of Fife, Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander Robert Swift and Police Scotland Detective Sergeant Kira Murray. The programme started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the message from Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa, read by the regional Amir Dr Abdul Hayee Sahib. The event concluded with a silent prayer led by Daud Ahmad Qureshi Sahib, followed by lunch.
