15 May 1908: On this day, The Daily Paisa Akhbar and Akhbar Ahl-e-Hadith published a prophecy made by Dr Abdul Hakeem Khan, who announced that the Promised Messiah (as) would pass away on 4 August 1908. Arrogantly, he claimed: “Mirza will fall prey to a fatal illness and shall die on 21 Sawan 1965 [i.e., 4 August 1908].” The Promised Messiah (as) passed away on 26 May 1908.

16 May 1878: Munshi Gurdiyal, a teacher at the middle school in Chiniot, Punjab, published an article in Aftab-e-Punjab advocating the Samajist belief that all souls are uncreated and addressing the Promised Messiah (as). In reply, on this day, the Promised Messiah (as) penned a decisive rebuttal that silenced the Munshi and brought the debate to an end. (Purani Tahrirein, Ruhani Khazain, Vol. 2, p. 46a)
16 May 1947: Delhi’s newspaper Riasat commented in its editorial that Ahmadis were supporting the Pakistan Movement, but soon after the creation of Pakistan, the non-Ahmadi Muslims would treat them exactly as the Afghan government had treated them in the past.
In response, during his speech on this day, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra) stated that in a situation like this, a divine community which is purely based on religion, morals and justice will keep in mind the rights of the people while making any decision instead of seeking its own benefit. Huzoor (ra) emphasised that the Jamaat would give precedence to the interest of the Muslim community and that “it is our obligation to help the oppressed nation, no matter if they kill us or harm us. We have been harmed by every nation.”

17 May 1946: On this day, two Ahmadi missionaries – Malik Ataur Rahman Sahib and Chaudhry Ataullah Sahib – reached Paris to establish the Ahmadiyya mission there. They rented a room in a hotel and commenced their respective activities. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 11, p. 12)
17 May 2013: On this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aa) inaugurated the Baitur Rahman Mosque in Vancouver, Canada, by delivering his Friday sermon from the new mosque. (‘‘Thousands attend opening of new Ahmadiyya Mosque in Vancouver’’ www.pressahmadiyya.com)
18 May 1908: On this day, Professor Clement Lindley Wragge enjoyed the privilege of having an audience with the Promised Messiah (as) once again, this time with some new questions. Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V (aa) visited Professor Clement Wragge’s grave during his 2006 New Zealand tour on 7 May.

19 May 1955: On this day, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra) was in Zurich and sent Eid greetings to members of the Jamaat through a telegram. He wrote:
“Eid Mubarak to all Ahmadis of Pakistan, India and around the world. I pray for the removal of their worries and problems and for their spiritual progress.” (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 16, p. 515)
19 May 1989: On this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV (rh) delivered his Friday sermon at the Mahmud Mosque of Zurich, in which he highlighted the schemes employed by some Baháʼís in Pakistan to undermine the faith of some economically disadvantaged Ahmadis, enticing them with financial incentives and the allure of material benefits in an attempt to sway their allegiance away from Islam Ahmadiyyat. Huzoor (rh) emphatically stated that, despite their economic hardships, Ahmadis possess a resolute and unwavering faith, rendering these tactics ineffective. (Khutbat-e-Tahir, Vol. 8, p. 323)
20 May 1928: Madrasa Ahmadiyya in Qadian gained the status of an Arabic college. Now known as Jamia Ahmadiyya, this prestigious institution’s branches have been established today in more than a dozen countries on five continents since its humble beginning. On this day, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra)inaugurated this new institution with a powerful speech. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 5, p. 21)
Hazrat Sufi Muti-ur-Rahman was sent to serve as the person in charge of the Ahmadiyya Mission in America on this day, too.

21 May 1948: When Israel was established on 14 May 1948, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra) wrote an article to awaken the Muslim world, titled “Al-Kufru Millatun Wahidah” and called on all Muslims to unite as one. This article was published on this day in Al Fazl.

21 May 2005: On this day, during his tour of Uganda, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aa) inaugurated a mosque in Busia. Later, Huzoor (aa) went to Mbale to inspect an Ahmadiyya hospital there. (Al Fazl International, 24 June 2005)
