For the past few months, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the whole world is in lockdown. People are bound to stay in their homes. This has increased unemployment as well and North Macedonia is also suffering from this situation.

It is a distinctive feature of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya and Humanity First that it always stands on the forefront to serve humanity.

There are two Jamaats in North Macedonia; one in Pehcevo and the other in Berovo, where the authorities contacted the Jamaat to request for help during this difficult situation. In response, a programme was planned to distribute food to those in need with the cooperation of Humanity First Germany.

On 15 and 16 April 2020, food packets were distributed in two cities and six villages. 20 Ahmadis took part in this distribution and provided these food packages to poor families. In Berovo city, the food was given at the Council building and the Jamaat centre. The Mayor of Berovo was also present there. The Mayor appreciated the Jamaat’s service and said:

“I am very thankful to the Jamaat and this service of the Jamaat to help the people of Berovo city will be remembered.”

Moreover, the citizens of Berovo also showed their gratitude to the Jamaat for this help. In total, this help was provided to nearly 700 people, alhamdolillah, and the local media also published the news of Jamaat’s activities.
