From 2 to 7 April 2021, Rizwan Ahmad Afzal Sahib, a missionary, and I embarked on a 1500-kilometre journey through central Sweden. The travel started from Nasir mosque in Gothenburg.
The campaigns #FrågaEnMuslim (Ask A Muslim) and #MessiasHarKommit (Messiah Has Come) has been launched by Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Sweden for several years.
On the instruction of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa, many rural areas and cities have been visited and the message of Islam Ahmadiyyat has been conveyed there.
With permission from local police authorities, five public gatherings were arranged at central locations in the cities Örebro, Karlskoga, Karlstad, Borlänge and Gävle. Political authorities and local churches were also contacted and informed about the campaign. Many people visited the event and observed the large picture of the Promised Messiahas on the back of the caravan.
The journey received much attention from the local press. A total of five newspapers published detailed reports of the campaign and introduced Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya. The media also published the picture of the Promised Messiahas. Two local radio stations interviewed us and enquired about the purpose of the campaign, as well as one TV station. All of these news stories were also published online and on social media and reached hundreds of thousands, alhamdulillah.
As it was Easter, the advent of the Promised Messiahas as the second coming of Jesus Christas was highlighted and this was also mentioned by the press.
Along the route, several members of the Jamaat residing in these remote areas were visited and they provided us ample assistance. May Allah bless them for their support.
