A glimpse into the rich history of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat

21 April 1896: On this day, the Promised Messiahas wrote a letter to Hazrat Maulvi Abdullah Sanaurira. Earlier, this devout companion had conveyed through a postcard that his application for leave had been accepted. Huzooras was so pleased to hear that he would come and stay in Qadian for a period of two months. Huzooras repeatedly persuaded him to be prompt and reach Qadian without any further delays because one of the relatives of Maulvi Sahibra was under the care and treatment of Hazrat Hakim Maulvi Nuruddin Sahibra in Qadian. 21 April 1923: On this day, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra issued detailed guidelines for the missionaries who were serving in the Malkana area to tackle the issue of the Shuddhi Movement. 21 April 1970: On this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh inaugurated the Mission House in Kumasi, Ghana. On the same day, Huzoorrh delivered addresses at Talim-ul-Islam Secondary School and Kumasi University. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 26, pp. 48-49)

21 April 2006: On this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa laid the foundation of the Khilafat Jubilee Hall in Sydney, Australia. (Al Fazl International, 2 June 2006, p. 9)

22 April 1908: On this day, The Promised Messiahas received the following Urdu revelations from God Almighty:

میرے‭ ‬لئے‭ ‬ایك‭ ‬نشان‭ ‬آسمان‭ ‬پر‭ ‬ظاہر‭ ‬ہوا۔‭ ‬خیروخوبى‭ ‬كا‭ ‬نشان۔‭ ‬میرى‭ ‬مرادیں‭ ‬پورى‭ ‬ہوئیں۔

“A Sign appeared for me in the heaven. A Sign, good and excellent. My wishes have been fulfilled.” (Tadhkirah [English], p. 1031)

22 April 2003: On this day, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmadaa was elected as the Khalifatul Masih V. Around 11,000 members of the Jamaat pledged allegiance at his hands at the Fazl Mosque in London; moreover, Ahmadis around the world pledged allegiance through MTA International. 22 April 2006: On this day, during his tour of Australia, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa inaugurated the new Ahmadiyya mosque in Brisbane, named Baitul Masroor. (Al Fazl International, 2 June 2006, pp. 10-11)

23 April 1902: On this day, the Promised Messiahas issued an announcement about Chiragh Din of Jammu, an erstwhile follower of Huzooras. 5000 copies of that announcement were published for the members of the Jamaat. In it, Huzooras announced the expulsion of that person from his Jamaat after refuting his untruthful and deceitful views. (Majmua-e-Ishtiharat [2019], Vol. 3, p. 259)

23 April 1910: On this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Ira inaugurated the Nur Mosque in Qadian. Its foundation had been laid by Huzoorra on 5 March 1910. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 3, p. 311)

24 April 1908: This day was a Friday and the last Friday of the Promised Messiahas in Qadian, as he would soon depart for his last journey to Lahore. Hazrat Hakim Maulvi Nuruddin Sahibra led the Jumuah prayer.

24 April 1970: On this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIIrh addressed a press conference in Accra, Ghana, and then went to Saltpond, where he visited the mosque and mission house. Around 12,000 Ahmadis were present there to see their beloved Imam. The attendees also included various dignitaries, such as the paramount chiefs. Huzoorrh led the Jumuah prayer and after that delivered another address to the members who had gathered there. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 26, p. 51)

25 April 2006: On this day, during his tour of Fiji, Huzooraa arrived at Nadi airport. A correspondent of the national television interviewed Huzooraa as well. (Al Fazl International, 9 June 2006, pp. 1-2)

26 April 1931: On this day, Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra delivered a lecture in the town hall of Mansoori on the topic of Hindu-Muslim unity while he was on his journey to northern India. (Tarikh-e-Ahmadiyyat, Vol. 5, p. 274)

26 April 1984: On this day, the infamous dictator of Pakistan, General Zia-ul-Haq, issued Ordinance XX, which made it unlawful for Ahmadis to engage in any kind of Islamic practice, from modes of worship to dress code, from greetings to using any terms that were Islamic, and it also included not having Muslim names.

27 April 2005: On this day, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa visited the complex adjacent to the Ahmadiyya Mosque in Nairobi, Kenya. Huzooraa also visited the graveyard, where some of the Promised Messiah’sas companions are buried. (Al Fazl International, 13 May 2005, pp. 8 and 16)

27 April 2006: On this day, during his tour of Fiji, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa granted an audience to the then-president of Fiji. In the evening, Huzooraa addressed a reception held in his honour at the capital city of Suva’s central hotel, which was attended by various dignitaries as well.
