Jalsa Salana preparation is an ongoing project that runs throughout the year. For Jalsa Salana 2019, formal meetings and planning commenced in January 2019 after approval of the organising committees by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa. The Jalsa Salana Management Committee began to meet on a weekly basis to review red book points and settle contracts with marquee, lavatory, cabin, track and other supply contractors.
To date, monthly reports have been presented to Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa and Huzooraa has graciously given us constant guidance regarding Jalsa Salana preparations.
We have a 28-day period in which the whole Jalsa Salana site along with its infrastructure must be setup and then, after the Jalsa, dismantled. As such, there has been continuous work in progress at Hadeeqatul Mahdi since our 28-day time frame started. Marquees are being marked out and set up, Khuddam are volunteering for waqare-amal, our stores are being stocked and specialist teams (such as the electrical team) consisting of Jamaat members are setting up their various departments.
The air-conditioning system that was set up last year within the Jalsa Gahs, with the permission and instruction of Huzooraa, will be installed this year as well, aiding in case of high temperatures.
This year, with our new Markaz in Islamabad, there is a whole new setup and extensive planning has gone into catering for the scores of guests expected at Islamabad. They will certainly come to the new Markaz to meet Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa, offer prayers behind him and pray at Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV’srh resting place. Therefore, new marquees, guest areas, scanning stations, prayer overflow and a langar area are being set up at Islamabad.
A distinct feature of Jalsa Salana UK is of course the fresh rotis (flat breads) that are made on site for the guests of the Promised Messiahas. Accordingly, the over-hauling of our roti plant in Hadeeqatul Mahdi has started to ensure quality when Jalsa Salana arrives.
The work is increasing daily as we approach Jalsa Salana and we are witnessing volunteers arriving from across the UK. In fact, volunteers from the USA and Canada will also be arriving to assist in the Jalsa build-up, Insha-Allah.
