100 Years Ago… – Precious words of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih [II] about Tasheezul Azhan

Al Fazl, 6 May 1920

The magazine Tasheezul Azhan is published monthly on 48 pages. Consequently, for the last eleven years, none of its issues have ever been late. It possesses scholarly articles in refutation of internal and external opponents and in support of Islam and Ahmadiyyat, which are highly beneficial for the members of the Jamaat. Its annual cost is only two and a half rupees. Given below is the transcript of what Hazrat Khalifatul Masih said about it on the occasion of the Jalsa Salana. The members of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat should make a special effort in its expansion so that the magazine can be self-sufficient. Moreover, gain rewards from Allah by sending contributions for the debt owed to it. Wassalam

Yours humbly Rahim Bakhsh, Nazir Talif-o-Ishaat, Qadian.

“Then there is the magazine, Tasheez. I did not put it behind because it was behind with respect to its services, rather it is because I initiated it. I have mentioned it in the end so that my inner self does not feel by mentioning it at the outset that it was I who launched it. This magazine has done a good deal of scholarly work in recent days, especially very good articles of Munshi Khadim Hussain Sahib regarding Shiites that have been published. In my opinion, his writing ability is much more than his academic ability and possesses a unique style. People confront the opponents from the doorstep, but he enters their house and sits … next to them and asks them, ‘Tell me, when you will vacate the house and give it to us.’ This is a very remarkable and beneficial approach. He writes strong articles praising the Shiites with great excellence and sincerity. Its outcome is extremely good. By writing in this manner, they cannot resort to abuse or say anything. Our youth should learn this style.

“In addition to his articles, other people’s articles are also published. At the time of dissensions, good articles have been published about the issue of prophethood of the Promised Messiahas. However, the magazine has less subscribers. Recently, I had an appeal launched for its loan. [Now] I appeal for its support as well.”
