The day of the Prophet savs 25th December in Kosovo Prishtina

Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Kosovo held Seeratun Nabi on 25 December 2019, to celebrate the great life of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Families attended the event and a number of non-Ahmadi guests also came.

This year there was a new addition to the event, a quiz that incorporated quotes in relation to the Holy Prophetsa. The quiz was divided into two parts. Firstly, there was a quiz from the quotes of the Holy Prophetsa himself regarding all aspects of life. Secondly, there was a quiz which incorporated quotes by famous people who had spoken about the Prophet’ssa marvelous life.

During the event, a beautiful and unique passage from the book “Aina Kamalat-e-Islam” of the Promised Messiah, peace be upon him, was read out.

The keynote speaker of the event was Mr Rexhep Hasani, an award winning member of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Kosovo. He was recognised for his exemplary status of a Principal at a school. His speech was about “True loyalty to the nation through the example of the Holy Prophetsa”.

He elaborated upon the topic, explaining that loyalty to one’s home country is a part of faith. He quoted Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V’s, may Allah be his Helper, address to the Military Headquarters in Koblenz, Germany.

One such quote by Huzooraa was:

“First and foremost, a fundamental principle of Islam is that a person’s words and deeds should never manifest any form of double standards or hypocrisy. True loyalty requires a relationship built on sincerity and integrity. It requires what a person displays on the surface, to be the same as what lies beneath. In terms of nationality, these principles are of the utmost importance. Therefore, it is essential for a citizen of any country to establish a relationship of genuine loyalty and faithfulness to his nation.”

Around 35 people attended the event. An interesting observation of a non-ahmadi guest was that in other mosques and organisations this topic (of loyalty) is not linked to Islamic teachings and the opinion of other scholars is that to be a true believer and to be loyal to one’s homeland, is an oxymoron. It is interesting, he noted, how the Khalifa of Islam has solved this formula and has said it is part of the belief to be loyal to the home country by stating a saying of the Holy Prophetsa.
