In today’s Friday Sermon, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V, may Allah be his Helper, spoke about the coronavirus and then narrated the great qualities of a devout servant of Khilafat, Nasir Saeed Sahib.

As a summary, the instructions and guidance of Huzooraa about the pandemic are given for the benefit of all.

Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V, may Allah be his Helper, said that in these days the coronavirus pandemic and the situation of the world has caused the whole world to be in worry. People write letters to Huzooraa and express their worries. They worry about the illnesses of their loved ones and relatives, no matter what the illness is.

Anxiety and worry are greatly expressed in the current situation. [People worry] that if there are underlying health issues, then may it not be that this illness overtakes such a body with low immunity. Huzooraa said that some Ahmadis have also contracted this illness. Nevertheless, a worry has engulfed the world. A Murabbi wrote to Huzooraa and said that he cannot understand what has happened. He is right, Huzooraa noted, no one knows what is happening to the world. Allah the Almighty, in the Holy Quran, talks about such conditions.

Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa referred to the Quran in which Allah talks about man, who expresses his shock and becomes dumbfounded by sudden disastrous situations. Drawing on the commentary of Hazrat Musleh-e-Maudra, Huzooraa explained that we, believers, also undergo the effects of world pandemics and disasters. But it is imperative that Ahmadis bow in front of Allah the Almighty and pray to him and at the same time, warn the world.

Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa said that some people comment by saying that this is a sign, but we do not know if it is a sign or not. We cannot draw comparisons between the plague that transpired during the time of the Promised Messiah, peace be upon him. No one has the right to say that if an Ahmadi contracts this virus, their faith, in some way, is weak. Huzooraa explained that world disasters have certainly increased in our time. However, saying it [coronavirus] is a sign from Allah for the Jamaat is false, comparisons with the sign of the plague cannot be drawn.

During the time of the plague, the Promised Messiahas made it clear that signs of God, that are in the shape of disasters and pandemics, take the lives of some believers as well. This happened during the time of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as well during the battles. Lots of companions were martyred despite God’s promise of protection and victory. Along with the disbelievers, Muslims were also killed but the victories were signs and those believers killed were called martyrs. In the same manner, at the time of the Promised Messiahas some Ahmadi Muslims died during the plague sign.

The Promised Messiahas instructed his Jamaat to focus on worshipping God and upholding his rights and to take all physical precautions as well. He further elaborated that if a Jamaat member had contracted the plague then the whole Jamaat should give full support and help that person and their family. But, at the same time, the Promised Messiahas instructed his Jamaat to take all physical precautions when helping and aiding.

Huzooraa spoke of the situation in Britain where members of the public are roaming and meeting in parks despite the government telling people to stay indoors. The British government has only given permission to go for some exercise in open air, not to meet in public places etc. Huzooraa said that Ahmadi Muslims should refrain from such behaviour and listen to the governmental advice.

General hygiene and keeping the atmosphere within society clean was spoken about by the Promised Messiahas during the time of the plague. After taking all precautions, the Promised Messiahas made it clear that the ultimate reaction is seeking forgiveness from God and bowing in front of him through prayers.

Huzooraa said, “Allah listens to prayers” if one, with pure intention, prays to him. We should pray for everyone across the whole world. There are lots of people who do not have access to basic medical precautions or food, and Ahmadi Muslims can also be amongst these people. The Jamaat tries its best to give such people food and medical assistance, selflessly.

Hazrat Amirul Momineenaa said, “in these days pay attention to prayers, prayers and prayers”.

Referring to Ahmadi businesses, Huzooraa instructed Ahmadi Muslim businessmen not to try and make maximum profit in these days. Rather, they should sell their products at the most minimum of profits and in this manner serve humanity. Huzooraa said, “these are the days of serving humanity.”

Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa spoke about the great qualities of a bodyguards of Khilafat, Nasir Saeed Sahib – the details of which will be published in due time, insha-Allah.
