Promised Messiah Day jalsas held throughout Canada

Every year Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya celebrate 23 March as the Promised Messiah Day. On this day in 1889, the Promised Messiahas accepted the bai‘at from 40 of his followers, Thus, the seed of Jamaat-e-Ahmaddiyya was sown. Over the ensuing 132 years, Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya grew and today has branches in almost all the countries of the world.  

This day reminds every Ahmadi that the mission of the Promised Messiahas was to restore the lost glory of Islam. This was a fulfilment of the prophecies of the Holy Quran and sayings of the Holy Prophetsa. Furthermore, Jalsa Yaum-e-Masih-e-Maud motivates every Ahmadi to work towards achieving this goal.          

This year, the Jalsa was held during the pandemic, so all Imarats and jamaats were advised to hold their Jalsajat virtually. A standard programme was followed across Canada which included recitation from the Holy Quran, poem, reading of the Ten conditions of bai’at, followed by speeches. Translations were presented in English and Urdu as needed. Montreal Imarat, Jamaat Ottawa East, and part of Eastern Toronto region also included French translations. Documentaries showing historical and pictorial progress were also shown during the program.

Amir Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Canada, Lal Khan Malik Sahib addressed Brampton West Imarat Jalsa on 23 March 2021, and elaborated the importance of celebrating Jalsa Yaum-e-Masih-e-Maud. In this jalsa, a quiz about the Promised Messiah Day was conducted and 150 members took active part in it.

Jamaat Edmonton East also had Amir Sahib preside over their Jalsa. His opening address was on the topic “Achievements of the Promised Messiahas”. A panel discussion was held on the topics of the mission of the Promised Messiahas, how he propagated his message, and how he explained the spiritual and mental states of a man.

Amir Sahib also addressed the Jalsa of Jamaat London, Ontario. 

Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Canada, Farhan Khokhar Sahib presided the Jalsa of Calgary Imarat. After the recitation of the Holy Quran and poem, the missionary Asif Arif Sahib described the “life of the Promised Messiahas as stated by his companions”. Farhan Khokhar Sahib in his speech explained the life and writings of the Promised Messiahas based on the Holy Quran. He explained the impact of those writings on the companions and their efforts to excel in piety and financial sacrifices. A quiz was also held.

Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Canada, Hadi Ali Chaudhry Sahib presided the Jalsa of Peace Village Imarat. After recitation of the Holy Quran and poem, a missionary Imtiaz Ahmad Sra Sahib delivered his speech on the “First condition of Bai‘at”. Hadi Ali Chaudhry Sahib elaborated “Divine miracles of Sultan-ul-Qalamas”. He explained impact of the writings on the companions and how these attracted pious persons.

Jalsa for Montreal Imarat saw local missionary Ishaque Fonseca Sahib deliver an English speech on the topic of “Summary of events that took place on 23 March 1889 related to the ceremony of initiation”. A missionary, Nabil Mirza Sahib made French speech on the topic “Le Messie Promiseas, Sa confain absolue in Allah (The Promised Messiah’sas absolute trust in Allah”, and presented faith inspiring incidents.

Jalsa in Ottawa jamaats was presided by the Regional Amir Eastern Canada, Aleemudin Ahmad Sahib. A missionary, Luqman Ahmad Sahib spoke about “A conclusive argument of truthfulness of the Promised Messiahas”, while the missionary Farhan Iqbal Sahib delivered a presentation on “Practices of the Promised Messiahas in Ramadan”.

Vancouver Imarat arranged a series of activities leading to the Jalsa Yaum-e-Masih-e-Maud on 23 March 2021.

For all Imarats and different Jamaats, 11,251 views have been reported for the live programmes.
