On 27 November 2021, Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya USA held a virtual Waqf-e-Nau Medical Conference, in collaboration with Ahmadiyya Muslim Medical Association USA and the National Waqf-e-Nau Department, USA.
The purpose of the event was for waqifeen in the medical field, from different stages of training, to come and share their experiences so far and how they are preparing themselves for careers as waqifeen-e-nau doctors.
The event provided necessary and practical financial insights to waqifeen. While the event was geared towards waqifeen-e-nau who are already in medical school, residency, or, have completed their training, younger waqifeen, families and Jamaat members interested in waqf-e-arzi were also welcome.
The event highlighted several speakers. Among them, a resident psychiatrist shared his experiences about his search for answers to important questions he asked himself about this waqf over the years. A financial adviser educated the attendees on various loan repayment programmes, short-term investment strategies and tips on responsible spending.
The highlight of the event was a presentation by Mirza Nayyar Ahmad Sahib, who is the first waqif-e-nau doctor from the USA to be posted to a Jamaat hospital. Nayyar Sahib provided invaluable insight about steps one should take to prepare for posting at a Jamaat hospital.
The three talks were followed by a 25-minute-long question and answer session.
This was followed by a brief presentation by Dr Mubashir Mumtaz Sahib, Naib Sadr Ahmadiyya Muslim Medical Association USA on the various opportunities for waqf-e-arzi and employment at Fazl-e-Omar Hospital Rabwah and Tahir Heart Institute.
Concluding remarks were given by Hafiz Samiullah Chaudhary Sahib, National Secretary Waqf-e-Nau, USA.
101 individuals registered for the event. There were 107 unique logins to the event, with the highest number of attendees at any given time numbering 95. A survey of registrants revealed that 65 of them were waqifeen-e-nau.
